Grand Opening: The HUB Open House

Dear Community Members,

After many months of collaboration and countless hours of hard work, our dreams are finally becoming reality. Our mission is to help children and families reclaim balance in their lives after a loss has occurred. We are so excited to invite you to experience a welcoming space that has been designed for healing and helping our community.

Since the purchase of the former Afton Great American a community center, and the necessary space for HALos to provide its services has been established. The community center will provide individuals with resources and services, space for meetings, trainings and educational programming. HALos space will include a much-needed independent office space to provide its established programming to participants and space to expand HALos services. We are excited to present our sensory wellbeing space. The sensory space provides the opportunity for participants to relax, regulate their emotions, become calmer and enhance their sense of focus, promote positive mental health and wellbeing while using their senses.

May is Mental health month. It was established in 1949 to raise awareness of trauma and the impact it can have on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children, families and communities. To increase the awareness of mental health and wellness, HALos would like to invite you to attend our open house at

Progress is most definitely being made at The HUB!

Phase 1 is wrapping up as we have been awarded further grant opportunities through our community partners.

Phase 2 has begun and is under construction.

While all spaces at The HUB are coming to be amazing, the community members who visited during Afton Side Walk Days 2021 all raved about the Sensory Room!  We appreciated all of the feedback and are looking into the suggestions many made.
